Commercial reforestation on lands dedicated to extensive cattle grazing activities in the region of Magdalena Bajo Seco

The project integrates the forest carbon component of the Commercial Reforestation Program - PRC, with more than 3,000 hectares of associative commercial reforestation in 6 municipalities of Magdalena. The PRC was born in the year 2000 led by CORMAGDALENA, its objective to counteract the erosion of the banks of the Magdalena River. Reforestation was carried out on cattle farms, combining cattle and forestry activities, seeking to diversify land use in areas converted to extensive cattle ranching in the Magdalena Bajo area and undertaking actions to give way to forestry development in the region.
