Description
Solar Power Plants in the Cuyo Region is a groundbreaking renewable energy initiative developed by GENNEIA S.A, Argentina's leading clean energy company. The project aims to harness the vast solar potential of the Cuyo region to generate sustainable energy and reduce carbon emissions, playing a crucial role in Argentina’s energy transition.
This is a grouped project and initially includes two solar parks: Sierras de Ullum (78 MW) and Tocota (60 MW), both located in San Juan Province. Future instances could expand into other provinces in the region.
This project is expected to reduce, in its first instance, an average of 121,944 tons of CO2e per year during its first quantification period. This reduction aligns with Argentina’s climate commitments under the Paris Agreement and contributes to global efforts to combat climate change.
The project promotes sustainable development, regional economic growth and Argentina’s efforts to diversify its electrical matrix for a greener future.
