Description
The project aims at reducing GHG emissions through avoided deforestation and forest degradation, while contributing to the sustainable development of the communities and preserving the existing forests in the territory of indigenous communities located in the Putumayo region of Colombian. This community oriented initiative seeks to conserve the forest through a comprehensive strategy to strengthens territorial governance, to develops sustainable productive activities compatible with nature that contribute to food security and income generation, and to improve social investment in the territory. Sustainable Development Goals are achieved as the project will help increase income, and enhance welfare conditions, fighting poverty, providing food security improving livelihood and health and sanitary conditions, and supporting local and culturally appropriated education programs.
