Description

The project aims to recover and conserve an area of 7,066.45 hectares of native temperate forest of the evergreen remnant type, of 4 forest properties located in the Andean Pre-cordillera of the Maule Region, in the Central Zone of Chile, which present conditions of high level of degradation due to the intervention of the object by overgrazing activities of cattle ranching and indiscriminate exploitation of the forest either by need of the owners or by theft of wood and firewood, which threatens the survival of these forests, serious damage to the vegetation and soil cover, generating G.E.I emissions and violates the biodiversity that is housed in it. The project is located in the commune of San Clemente, Talca Province, Maule Region, Chile, near the town of Vilches, a community of forest farmers who make a living from activities related to timber harvesting and rural tourism. The objective is to reverse the degradation of the forest area involved in the project by using silvicultura
